I wasnt charged with a crime and was hinorably discharged but it pisses me off that my dd214 says homosexuality as the reason for discharge. Its always bothered me. As a Veteran who isn’t particularly a fan of the way this administration has run our military into the ground, this move is long overdue. These men and women never deserved having their lives upended do to their sexuality but they also don’t deserve to be used as a political football like we Veterans always are. Why should anyone have to apply to have their records corrected? Why should we have to beg for decades on end for our benefits while suffering in poverty in medical distress after being injured in the service? Why do we need to be the ones to generate the proof after the DOD has destroyed half our records and evidence? Our government is corrupt and you wonder why they struggle to fill the ranks today? It’s because we who have served are no longer silent about what you do.
